WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — The leader of the Nation of Islam claims that Ambassador Christopher Stevens would be alive if Muammar Gadhafi was still ruling Libya.
Louis Farrakhan made the statement during a townhall meeting hosted by The Final Call News Wednesday.
“Gadhafi had an ordered society. Ambassador (Stevens) could go anywhere in Libya and he wouldn’t be harmed when Gadhafi was in power,” Farrakhan said in a video obtained by The Blaze. “When the enemy came, we became divided more-so than ever.” Gadhafi was overthrown and killed nearly one year ago following a prolonged civil war in Libya.
Farrakhan compared Gadhafi’s reign to Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, saying there was no violence when both men were rulers.
Stevens was killed on Sept. 11 at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi in what the White House is now calling a terror attack. The Obama administration was recently under fire for not indicating if it was a terror attack quickly enough. Three other Americans were also killed in the attack.
According to The Daily Caller, Farrakhan met with Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Tuesday night in New York.
